Composer and Music editor John R. Harris dies at 63

Emmy-nommed music editor John Harris, died Feb. 26 in Woodland Hills, Calif. He was 63.

Harris lived the last 18 years of his life as a quadriplegic after suffering a body surfing accident. 


Before his accident, he had worked as a music editor on such films as "Nine to Five," "Revenge of the Nerds," "The Changeling," "History of the World: Part 1," "Author! Author!" and "Johnny Dangerously." 


In 1987 he was nominated for an Emmy Award for his work on "L.A. Law." He also was a composer on the TV series "M*A*S*H." The last movie he worked on was "Memories of Me."


He is survived by four children, three grandchildren and his stepmother.
